Van Bunch practices almost exclusively in the firm’s class action cases, where he has focused his work for the past 20 years. His background is in general commercial litigation, concentrating in creditor’s rights, secured transactions, construction industry disputes, securities, real estate, employment law and bankruptcy litigation. Mr. Bunch has represented plaintiffs in numerous class actions and securities cases, including those involving vanishing premium life insurance sales, the Lincoln Savings & Loan failure, the Prudential Limited Partnerships Securities litigation and the presently pending cases involving the specification of imitation parts by insurance companies on insureds’ repair estimates and against credit card companies for hidden transaction fees. He is active in litigation over pollution, toxic exposure and mining land abuse in several pending actions in the West Virginia coalfields. He also has represented secured and unsecured creditors and shareholders in connection with major bankruptcies such as In re American Continental Corporation, Inc., In Re Harbor Southwest Development, Inc., In Re Fitzgerald, Diarmon and Roberts, and In Re Shepard Oil Inc.

Mr. Bunch is Co-Editor of the ABA Section of Litigation, Class Actions and Derivative Suits subcommittee newsletter. He also participates in the indigent legal services program of the Southeast Tennessee Legal Services Corporation.

Mr. Bunch received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Vanderbilt University in 1979. He received his law degree in 1984 from The George C. Taylor School of Law at the University of Tennessee, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and graduated with high honors. Mr. Bunch was admitted to the Bars of the States of Arizona in 1984 and Tennessee in 1996. He is admitted to practice before the District Courts for the District of Arizona and the Middle District of Tennessee.
