FREEDOM STRATEGIC PARTNERS CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT WITH DEFENDANT, FREEDOM STRATEGIC PARTNERS LLC, FREEDOM WIRELESS INC., LARRY L. DAY, DOUGLAS V. FOUGNIES, JOVAN VERCEL, JR. and KENNETH M. WIDNER
On July 6, 2010, The Honorable Philip M. Pro approved the proposed class action settlement in Klein et al v. Freedom Strategic Partners, LLC et al, No. 2:08-cv-01369-PMP-PAL (D. Nevada).
Update August 9, 2010: No appeals were filed during the mandatory 30-day appeal period following the Fairness Hearing on July 6, 2010. The Defendants have paid the entire $9 million Settlement Fund, and the Settlement Administrator is in the process of distributing the net proceeds of that fund to the approximately 1,800 Class members who did not opt-out of the Settlement. It is anticipated that Class members will receive checks for their share of the Settlement Fund by the end of August, 2010.
